About Ochre & Green Safaris

Ochre & Green Safaris is the brainchild of Akshay Manwani. Akshay has chased gibbons and hornbills in India, gorillas and giraffes in Africa and koala bears and kookaburras in Australia. He has travelled to North America to see grizzly bears and visited Europe in search of actual wolverines, not of the X-Men kind. Obsessed with capturing every little detail on an excel spreadsheet, he has done over 200 safaris across the world. Akshay’s singular ambition is to share his own experiences about the wild with as many people before Father Time catches up with him. Ochre & Green Safaris stems from his love for the jungle.

Akshay is also an avid wildlife photographer. He has photographed more than 500 bird species and close to 100 mammal and reptilian species within India, no mean task considering the vastly different ecological habitats India’s fauna are spread across. His photographs have been published across several leading websites such as Round Glass Sustain, Mint lounge and Moneycontrol.com.

Ochre & Green Safaris has strong collaborations with wildlife tour operators across India. Our excellent network of local tour guides and safari drivers allows us to source the best possible information about wildlife and their movement. We are also committed to sharing our profits with our local resources since we see them as partners and not just as service providers.  We are a tight-knit, happy and highly motivated team.
